Sony is confused regarding the Android version of Xperia E4, mentions both Lollipop and KitKat
Earlier today, Sony officially announced the Xperia E4, a new smartphone that looks quite different from the older E series models. Powered by a quad-core MediaTek processor and sporting a 5-inch display with 540 x 960 pixels, the Xperia E4 will obviously not cost too much (though its exact price hasn’t been announced yet).
One thing that’s not clear about the Xperia E4 is the Android version that it’s going to have at launch. According to a post from Sony Developer World, the handset runs Android 4.4.4 KitKat (that’s what we had previously reported, too). However, the Xperia E4 product page says Android 5.0 Lollipop is on board. Obviously, we’re hoping that the smartphone will run Lollipop. We’ll find out if that’s the case later this month, when the E4 is supposed to be released in select markets.
Besides a 5-inch screen and a MediaTek processor, the Sony Xperia E4 features a 5 MP rear camera, 2 MP front-facing camera, 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of expandable storage space, and a 2300 mAh battery (this should be able to provide up to two days of normal usage).
