Gionee Elife S8 With Highest PPI ever
A new Gionee smartphone was recently spotted in a leaked GFXBench result, complete with most of its hardware specifications. The new Gionee handset is codenamed GN-9008, meaning that this could well be a successor to the Gionee Elife S7 GN-9006. At the moment, it unknown if the smartphone will be branded as the Gionee Elife S8, but this seems very likely given the similarity in code names.
According to the leaked GFXBench result, the Gionee Elife S8 will come with some of the hottest specs in the smartphone market. This includes a 4.6-inch display with a resolution of 1440 by 2560 pixels (QHD). If the benchmark is accurate with these measurements, then the Gionee Elife S8 could become the smartphone with the world’s crispest display, thanks to its PPI of 639. At the moment, the two smartphones with the crispest displays are the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge, both of which feature a PPI of 577.
The benchmark result also lists internal components such as an octa-core MediaTek 6795 chipset, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of integrated storage space. In the camera department, the Gionee Elife S8 could come with a 24MP primary camera and a 8MP front-facing shooter.
Obviously, the benchmark result doesn’t tell us anything about the design of the smartphone, but Gionee’s Elife smartphone line-up is well known for extreme slimness. The Gionee Elife S7, launched back at MWC 2015 in Barcelona, measures just 5.5mm across its waist, and we expect a continuation of this trend with the upcoming Elife S8. Before we get the chance to take a look at the S8, we invite you to take another look at the current-gen Elife S7.
