A Genuine Leather on the back cover of lg g4
The leather back cover of the upcoming LG G4 will be a bona fide luxury item. LG revealed that the 100% vegetable-tanned hide on the back of its flagship smartphone takes up to twelve weeks to process.
In addition to being environmentally friendly, vegetable tanning is apparently “the most traditional and the most recognizable” tanning method available. Used by leading global luxury brands such as Gucci and Prada, the tanning method gives leather unique feel, yet it preserves its markings and imperfections. The latter combine to give a truly bespoke experience with every product.
Unsurprisingly, the leather-clad variant of LG G4 will carry a higher price tag than the version with a plastic back cover. The Korean giant is reportedly aiming to sell 10 million units of the smartphone globally in a year.
LG G4 will be fully revealed next week, on April 28. We will be covering the launch live, so be sure to tune in for the full scoop on the smartphone.
